Information about horseback riding:

With local knowledgeable, experienced guides and 18 beautiful Icelandic horses, Vassfaret Turridning takes you into the stunning mountain landscape of Vassfaret. The tours include riding over the ridge of the beautiful Vardefjell, and along the way, we stop for a pleasant outdoor lunch where you can enjoy your packed lunch in good company, surrounded by breathtaking panoramic views.

PRACTICAL INFO ABOUT SUMMER TOURS:

- We have helmets available for loan in all sizes.

- All horseback riding tours start at 11:00 AM from Engene Mountain Lodge; please arrive 30 - 15 minutes before departure.

- Soft drinks, chocolate, coffee, and pancakes can be purchased at the mountain lodge.

- There is a weight limit of 90kg for all tours.

- All tours are leisurely experiences and do not have a high pace.

- For the four-hour tour, you will need:

  - Shoes with a bit of heel

  - Weather-appropriate clothing, a windbreaker is advisable

  - Gloves/mittens

  - Thin headband or cap to wear under the helmet

  - Packed lunch

  - Drinks

  - Small backpack/fanny pack

  - Long pants - not shorts, to avoid chafing

LODGING AT THE MOUNTAIN LODGE:

- 440 NOK per person

- Self-service cabin.

- Please bring your own food, towels, and bedding.
